2017 with a Tree Trunk
For the past 11 months, I have been taking monthly photographs of a tree in the backyard.
A Lack of Color
The weather has continued to be cold and overcast, making backyard photography a challenge, so I took on that challenge by doing some black and white photography.
A Bed of Leaves
There’s only one photo this week, but it’s a higher-resolution image than normal so you can zoom in to see the details. You can also suggest a macro subject for the next blog post!

A Closer Look at a Woolly Aphid
What I thought were a bazillion gnats flying around last week turned out to be a bazillion woolly aphids. Going outside for any amount of time guaranteed that you would find at least one on your clothes when you came back in.
Bugs on the Concrete
The weather is getting colder, which means bugs are looking for nice, warm places to congregate.
Cereal Leaf Beetle Crosses Half-Inch Gap
This week we will observe as a cereal leaf beetle attempts the feat of crossing a half-inch gap on a tree stump.
