For the past 11 months, I have been taking monthly photographs of a tree in the backyard.
A Lack of Color
The weather has continued to be cold and overcast, making backyard photography a challenge, so I took on that challenge by doing some black and white photography.

November Mushrooms
Last February, I photographed some mushrooms growing on a log near our driveway. That was back when I was just getting into digital photography, and I happened to get a picture that’s still one of my favorites. Jump forward to yesterday, and some of those mushrooms’ relatives have made an appearance around the stump from which that log was cut.

Frosty Morning
Although it was a little chilly, one particular morning last week was beautiful with the ground and plants covered in a thin layer of frost.

What I thought were a bazillion gnats flying around last week turned out to be a bazillion woolly aphids. Going outside for any amount of time guaranteed that you would find at least one on your clothes when you came back in.
