After reviewing a few pictures I’d taken of a jumping spider crawling on an eggplant (plant) in the garden, I was reminded of a traveler venturing through wild and unfamiliar territory. I decided to give the photos a black-and-white treatment so they would look a little more alien.
The spider climbs up leafy mountains.
You can see the web it uses as a safety line as it traverses the ridge.
The spider casts a long shadow as it walks down a lonely path toward eggplant forest.
It has reached the edge of the foreboding eggplant forest.
The spider contemplates whether it should enter into the dark domain – many a traveler has never returned from beyond this point.
Of course, it’s not long before the spider remembers that it’s the reason many a traveler has never returned from the eggplant forest!
