I was going to sit down in one of our patio chairs when I noticed a praying mantis had stolen my seat. There haven’t been many mantises around the house this year, so I grabbed my camera. The mantis was a little suspicious of me trying to take pictures and it quickly flew away, but three yards wasn’t far enough away to discourage me from tracking it down.

It didn’t like the look of things and quickly flew away. Fun Fact: Usually only male mantises are capable of flight.
The mantis looked surprised when I skillfully tracked it down over a whole three yards into a bed of flowers.
This is a great way to clean your feet – by nibbling on them.
The same goes for your antennae.
The mantis had some pretty good camouflage. Maybe that’s why I haven’t seen very many around.

Well, the praying mantis is cute! I love them! Whenever I see one I’m amazed at how they look & they do blend in well with their surroundings! 🙂 I have no clue to your mystery photo this week! Kinda looks like some plants that I’ve had that get all tangled underneath but the side doesn’t fit! Well, my answer to last week’s photo was close in the fact I related it to my computer ~ even! 🙂
