It seems slightly strange that a caterpillar is a rare sight when there are so many other critters in the backyard, but this green caterpillar was the first large caterpillar I’ve seen in the past several years. It was feasting on hen and chicks flowers. As far as what butterfly it will become, I have no idea.
As one would expect, voracious caterpillars have to poop (often).

This guy looks like a moving cucumber! Hee Hee! It would be interesting to see which butterfly he turns into! 🙂 Let us know if you ever find this out & get some pictures to show us!
Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful keeping an eye on it. It disappeared from the plant after a few days and I couldn’t find a cocoon.
