f you don’t like spiders, perhaps only jumping spiders could convince you otherwise. With their big eyes, spiked hair, and occasional crazy colors, they just might be the stars of the invertebrate world.
I’ve photographed a lot of jumping spiders over the past month, so I selected nine of my current favorites to share this week. Most of these are the same species –
Phidippus audax – which are identified by their colorful chelicerae (mouth parts). They seem to be the most common kind of jumping spider in the backyard.
Oh my!! I don’t like spiders much…..but these cuties I definitely like!!! They are sooo photogenic and have such personality!! I never thought I’d say these things about a spider…..ever!! But your pictures have shown me differently…that being said, I know that there are a lot of spiders still out there that are not this cute!!! These pictures are amazing!! Love them!!
They are cute! & so furry too! Amazing! I can say I love these pictures because
they aren’t walking up my arm! Hee Hee! I’d probably be screaming if they
were! 🙂
I wouldn’t like them crawling on me either, even though I know they’re harmless.
